Following last month’s 178 additions to my various collections (thanks largely to the Toronto Spring Expo show), there was really nowhere for that number to go but down.

And boy did it ever go down; since my last post in this monthly series I only managed to bring in a total of 11 cards.

Aside from the three card showing in January (caused by a restructuring of my posting schedule), 11 additions is easily the lowest amount from any month thus far in 2012 and makes the 63 cards shown in early February seem like a major haul by comparison.  

Not a single card was removed from the various base sets that I’m working on finishing off and only a single card was added to any of my player collections: a 2011-12 Panini Limited Team Trade Marks insert of Joe Thornton that came to me in the only trade I was able to pull off in June.

While it’s not much to show off, it certainly wasn’t for lack of trying though.

I’m still receiving and checking my daily email alerts from eBay with new listings related to the projects I’m working on and I’m still checking the Sports Card Forum boards as regularly as I can. 

There simply hasn’t been much out there for me to acquire or when there has been I either lose the auction at the last second, just miss out on a “Buy It Now” item, or fail to reach an agreement with anyone looking to make a trade.

Perhaps it’s just that other collectors are experiencing the same summer collecting slowdown that I always seem to go through at this time of year.

Below you’ll find the obligatory photos of the cards I did manage to pick up, highlighted by seven more additions to my 2008-09 Upper Deck Masterpieces project.  I also got myself one card closer to completing the 1997-98 Donruss Preferred Cut to the Chase parallel set and removed two more cards from 2006-07 Upper Deck Artifacts Bronze parallel set that I’m slowly chipping away at.

My updated want lists are then featured below as they always are in these Want List Wednesday/Project Progress Report Combo articles, but as usual that doesn’t include my player collection lists due to the massive amount of space they’d take up.  I’ve also added the previously forgotten 2008-09 UD Masterpieces 5x7s to the lists below this month.
